International Yoga Day
June 2021
May all the most beautiful blessings of God and all the Masters be with you all. I will take this opportunity to pray for you and send you my best wishes for International Yoga Day on June 21.
This day is a universal recognition of yoga and the yogic lifestyle that transcends its place of origin in India. Since yoga has long been embraced by people from different countries and cultures, it has become an integral part in the lives of many giving them a healthy body and a healthy mind. Although the common meaning of yoga is a flexible body and mind and a joyful life, true flexibility arises when we make our lives and thoughts of increasing scope, and develop love and compassion that unites all creation.
What is the true message of yoga?
Yoga masters have said that expansion is life and death is contraction. We must learn to develop and integrate the three aspects of life: head, heart and hands. The head is the faculty of thinking. May our thoughts be more universal, so that we can understand that all of creation is one family. Our lives and thoughts should always be directed toward the well-being of all creation. Let our hearts expand until they feel friendship and unity everywhere. Let all wickedness and narrow-mindedness disappear from our minds and thoughts. May our hearts be in empathy with every living being. We all love and respect all living beings and recognize their right to life. May our hands always be ready to serve with love and kindness. In this way, yoga integrates life and spirit not only among humans, but all living beings in whatever state they may be.
Let our minds be sensitive. Let our intellects be integral. May our hearts vibrate with love and friendship. May our hands and feet be ready to serve with kindness and compassion. May our lives be filled with spirit and joy. Let our words be sweet, loving and pleasant. Above all, let our lives be filled with yoga, connecting and integrating everything with love and compassion.
On this special day, I pray to the Almighty Lord to bless each of us with the true spirit of yoga and understanding. Let’s transform this world into a beautiful temple for all life, whether plants, birds, animals or people living with love, joy and friendship.
Again on this occasion I offer my love and best wishes.
With Love,
Prajnanananda
